Student Award

The European Association of Archaeologists instituted the EAA Student Award in 2002. The prize is awarded annually for the best paper presented at the EAA conference by a student or archaeologist, working on a dissertation. Papers are evaluated for their academic merit and innovative ideas by the Award Selection Committee. The Committee consists of representatives of the EAA Executive Board, and is chaired by the General Editor of the European Journal of Archaeology. The Award consists of a diploma and one or more book vouchers. The winner of the award is announced at the Opening Ceremony. The winning paper will be considered for publication in the European Journal of Archaeology (EJA).

All MA and Ph.D. students, as well as archaeologists working on a dissertation, who present a paper at the conference are eligible to apply, and are encouraged to submit their papers to the Award Selection Committee. All co-authors (up to a maximum of 3 co-authors) must prove their student status; papers co-authored by a thesis supervisor are not eligible. Please email a covering letter, CV(s) and draft of the conference paper (2,000 - 8,000 words, ideally following the Notes for Contributors for the EJA ) to the EAA Administrator, Sylvie Kvetinová: (administrator@e-a-a.org), before 13 August 2017.
